  2. sources. John Ousterhout's code was liberally hacked. Code is about to be
  3. swiped from Xt as it belongs to an `obsolete mechanism' so I need to grab
  4. it before it disappears. Some code was adapted from Wafe in the String to
  5. XmString converter.
